Any OBODies who have had the pleasure of attending retreats and workshops at Earthspirit near Glastonbury will have happy memories of this lovely place. We have received a message from the Earthspirit team:
‘As David, the manager here, is now in his sixtieth year he has decided to ‘use it’ rather than ‘lose it’ and has entered himself for the Bath Half Marathon on March 12th. He’s done this to raise sponsorship for tree planting via a local charity, CHASE Africa, that plants trees and provides health care and family planning in Kenya. They can plant far more trees there, for the same money, than we can over here. Supporting impoverished communities and working to protect the global environment and the climate is very much part of our purpose here at EarthSpirit. So we’re writing to ask if you’d like to help us in this by sponsoring David. If you’d like to contribute you can do so via this link:-
We’re hoping to raise some £1000 which will be enough to plant roughly 2 acres. It will be great to know there’s an EarthSpirit wood growing in Africa, and we’ll make sure we have information on what’s happening in Kenya available for you to look at on your next visit to us here at the centre.
News on David’s effort and whether he made the whole 13 miles –he’s never run more than 8 miles before- will be posted on our website www.earthspirit-centre.co.uk.’
