LIFE ALCHEMY – A workshop intensive to bring new energy and transformation into your life
To open to our full potential and move joyously into a new phase of our lives, to help embrace change while letting go of old patterns – these are the aims of this one-day ‘Life Alchemy’ intensive led by Philip Carr-Gomm.
As we get older our life experience accumulates – hopefully making us wiser and happier. But it can also mean that we gather negative experiences as well as positive ones – suffering, trauma, difficult relationships, illnesses and other setbacks. Sometimes we know we want to move forward, to let go of the past and open ourselves, heart and mind, to the life we truly want to lead, but still it can be hard to actually do this.
Often change requires a great deal of work and time, and some patterns or situations can seem so fixed we feel we will never be able to shift or break out of them. But sometimes – not always – change can happen overnight, and our lives can take on a new direction and energy when certain decisions have been made or a pattern is finally dissolved.
Does this involve ‘clearing karma’, awakening the power of the soul, finally understanding something that was never fully articulated, finally letting go of a negative set of thoughts or feelings – opening at last to our true potential? Perhaps one or all of these things – we may never know, but this intensive is designed to open you to all these possibilities and more: providing the catalyst, the inspiration and the tools for you to fully engage with the next new phase in your life.
Starting from the understanding that we are spiritual beings with mental, emotional and physical needs, this day intensive has been created around a powerful ritual that works at a deep level of the soul and mind. On the Saturday evening each participant will be able to undertake this rite for themselves, and leading up to this, we will work with methods drawn from transpersonal psychology and shamanism. You will be guided through a process developed from Sophrology, which is a system of consciousness development and wellbeing created by the neuro-psychiatrist Prof. Alfonso Caycedo. In this process you will learn a sequence of exercises which work with the wisdom of the body and its intimate connection with the powers of mind and soul.
Held in Barbados. Details
Tarot Training – Part 2 in Barbados – The Deep Exploration Method – Learning how to use the Tarot to discover more about yourself and to help other people.
Philip & Stephanie Carr-Gomm, with artist Will Worthington, are the creators of one of the world’s most popular Tarot decks and books: The DruidCraft Tarot, which is available in 9 languages and on an app for iphones and androids. They have developed a special way of learning how to use the Tarot called Integrative Tarot Training, which they have been teaching in France, Germany, and Barbados, and online with Globalspiritualstudies.com.
Last year they taught the first part of the training in Barbados, and this year they are offering Part 2, which consists of a quick revision of Part 1, followed by learning one specific approach in detail: the Deep Exploration Method. Focusing on the Querent’s ‘presenting issue’ or problem, this method ‘drills down’ through successive layers of insight to explore the problem from many different angles. After this workshop you will receive a certificate of completion, a full set of student notes, and special access to two webinars, which you can take at your own pace at any time.
If you did not attend last year’s Part One workshop, you can still attend this one and take a Part One workshop another time! Details

8 - 10 May
Celebrate! A three day immersion in the arts of celebrancy for OBOD members and friends who want to explore working with rites of passage – either in a professional role or simply for themselves and close friends and relatives. We will work with ways in which we can create and hold rites of naming, weddings, handfastings, and funerals. This time together is designed for both experienced celebrants and for those who are just beginning to consider celebrancy as an avenue of service. We’ll share our own stories and learn ways in which we can craft rites that respond to the needs of people who may be ‘spiritual’ but who hold no special religious affiliation, as well as for those who want a specifically Druid ritual. Focalized by Philip Carr-Gomm and JJ Middleway. Primarily for Dutch-speaking members, although the weekend will be in English. This event is now fully booked. To register for the waiting list, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
19 - 24 May
We invite you to join us in a unique retreat experience in the magical landscape of Snowdonia in Wales. Cae Mabon is set in an oak forest glade and centered on a Celtic Roundhouse – a collection of unique and beautiful structures set in woodland facing the mountains with lake Llyn Padarn in the valley below. To the west is Ynys Mon (the island of Anglesey), the heartland of the Druids in ancient times. To the east is Dinas Emrys, where dragons are said to have risen from the ground and where the young Merlin spoke his first great prophecy.
Cae Mabon is deep in old Druid country. Some say Taliesin is her guardian spirit. Its cob cottage, straw bale hogan, cedar cabin and barn are situated amongst lush greenery and woodland, and the Afon Fachwen (‘little white river’) flows from Elidir near the thatched round house and cedar hot tub. During our retreat there will be storytelling, music-making, meditation and ritual. We will visit Dinas Emrys, and open to the Spirit of Druidry and the land.
The retreat will be led by Penny Billington, editor of Druid journal Touchstone and author of The Path of Druidry: Walking the Ancient Green Way and Philip Carr-Gomm. Honorary Bards ZZ Birmingham and Eric Maddern will entertain us with music and storytelling. This retreat is now fully booked. To register for the waiting list, please email firstname.lastname@example.org

‘Singer Shaman Sage’ – a day workshop on the Druid Mysteries in London.
Druidry is a spiritual way and practice that speaks to three of our greatest yearnings: to be fully creative in our lives, to commune deeply with the world of Nature, and to gain access to a source of profound wisdom. Each of these yearnings comes from a different aspect of the Soul, and we can personify these as the Singer, the Shaman and the Sage. In Druidry, Bardic teachings help to nurture the singer, the artist or storyteller within us – the creative self; Ovate teachings help to foster the shaman, the lover of Nature, the healer within us; while the Druid teachings help to develop our inner wisdom – the sage who dwells within each of us. In this workshop we will explore the ways in which Druidry can help develop these three aspects of ourselves so that Druidry becomes a living spiritual practice. We will discover, too, how the old stories and the sacred animals and plants used in Druidry, can help in our healing and spiritual development.
At The College of Psychic Studies, London.
17 - 18 Oct

Along the way, participants will learn about the way Druids work with healing and the subtle powers of Nature to effect change and healing in their lives.
