Equinox Mini-Retreat

March 19th, 2018

In Tea with Philip 15 we have a mini-retreat of 25 mins together. Here is the first blessing I read out: adapted by Donovan from Fiona McLeod’s wording from her
The Dominion of Dreams Under a Dark Star (1895)

Deep peace of the running wave to you
Deep peace of the flowing air to you
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you
Deep peace deep peace
Deep peace of the sleeping stones to you
Deep peace of the wandering wind to you
Deep peace of the flock of stars to you
Deep peace deep peace
Deep peace of the eastern wind to you
Deep peace of the western wind to you
Deep peace of the northern wind to you
Blue wind of the south to you
Pure red of the whirling flame to you
Pure white of the silver moon to you
Pure green of the emerald grass to you
Deep peace deep peace

I then talked about the Restorers Card from The Druid Plant Oracle, and in particular the plant Rhodiola Rosea – Roseroots.

And we finished with the blessing from The Incredible String Band’s song ‘A Very Cellular Song’:

May the long time sun shine upon you,
All love surround you,
And the pure light within you
Guide you all the way on.

  1. Thank you, Phillip. I’m sharing these with others today. Kimberley, Canada.

  2. Thank you for sharing this. It`s amazing how the mind is changing to another level or (better) energy after readond this .. once, twice .. it is pure magic for creating inner peace. After this the feeling changes as well as the communication to other people .. and trees and plants ..
    All the best

  3. Thank you Philip for these beautiful words of connection.

I am also reminded of (St Patrick’s confession/the Celtic imagination) that I found in John O’Donohue’s
book “Divine Beauty” the following words or poem; “THE DEER’S CRY”

Certainly the natural world teaches us many things, both writings speak of the elemental which are
    experienced in many ways.

    THE DEER’S CRY

    I arise today
    through strength in the sky
    light of sun
    moons reflection
    dazzle of fire
    speed of lightning
    wild wind deep sea
    firm earth
    hard rock.

    I arise today
    With God’s strength to pilot me;

(The ‘poem’ continues with two more verses, which I have found helpful to meditate upon.)

The Blessing and prayer that you have given is received warmly and gratefully, Thank You.x

  4. Sat listening to this mini retreat on Easter Monday having recently come out of a 3 month period of intense anxiety every morning and I found this very moving, uplifting and hopefully for a peaceful future using nature to heal, free and just outside my window. Angela Winbolt.

    • Good to know that the mini-retreat was helpful Angela. Here’s to a more peaceful phase of life! All the best, Philip
