I have recently been listening to my friend Charlie Roscoe’s albums Awakening Earth, Energy Healing, Earth Speaks (recorded with another friend Andreas Kornevall) and Druid Circle. I have been lucky enough to have worked with Charlie before on Sacred Nature Meditations: Clothed with Flowers.
Charlie’s music is beautiful and uplifting. Each track is lovingly created with an incredible attention to detail that results in the most gorgeous soundscapes that transport the listener to another world whilst also deepening their connection to self. They are wonderfully calming and centering. Each album is different with its own unique feel but there is a healing spirit that inhabits all of Charlie’s music.
I have a particular affection for Druid Circle. Charlie found his inspiration for this album in the British Isles, particularly the area of the North Cornish Coast, and especially the stunning St Nectan’s Glen and Kieve. Many of you will be familiar with this magical place and it’s wonderful that he has included recordings of the waters and ocean of this area in the music. Charlie writes that he wanted to connect to the healing atmosphere of this deeply sacred landscape throughout all the tracks. He describes it as ‘an album to help release negative energy, fear, or depression and to assist with the healing arts, therapies and those that practice meditation and nature presence. No metronomes or sequencing on this album, all played live with piano, tubular bells, Celtic flutes and vocals, overlaid with field recordings and laid back sound design.’
I highly recommend all of Charlie’s albums and Druid Circle would be a great place to start. Get yourself a copy, lay back, and as Charlie says, ‘sink deep into the ancient landscape and let your heart soar as you journey to Druid Circle.’
