Community as Ground & Anchor: Tea with a Druid 89

September 2nd, 2019

In this session we explore the third principle in the triad: “Three sources of comfort: knowledge of the Divine Origin of all Creation, inspiration in the teachings of mystics and sages, support in the fellowship of like-minded souls.”

I mention Damh the Bard’s song ‘Time Machine’, which you can hear here:

  1. I’m working currently with the element of Earth, so grounding is very much on my mind. The tree aspect reminds me of Starhawk’s Tree of Life meditation, imagining our roots digging deep into the earth as our branches reach for the sky. I see the all the circles of connection that I have made- with the plants and animals in and around this small plot of land where Michele and I live– with the musicians I play with and see in the local area, and with all the magical/druidic and other creative people I’ve interacted with via the internet, and I do feel a sense of hope even as the crazy world seems to spin ever more wildly.
