Blossom to Fruit

December 1st, 2011

I will not die an unlived life
I will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible.
To loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance;
To live
So that which came to me as seed,
goes to the next as blossom.
And that which came to me as a
blossom
goes on as fruit.

  1. Wonderful! I feel like there have been far too many moments in my life where the seed, through my own fear has not made it to blossom, let alone fruit! I am only really just starting to learn to trust the risk inherent in that unfolding. Thanks for posting -very timely for me! It is again about not going to the grave with one’s song unsung and yet strangely, that seemingly simple goal of being true to one’s self and expressing one’s potential can sometimes prove to be the trickiest thing to achieve.
